Just in Case You Hadn't Heard...

Surprise! No, this is not excessive belly weight gain (my little cousin asked a few weeks ago: "Do you have a baby in there?" I was very glad the answer was in the affirmative. :) )

Meet our Muffin. Gender: unknown. (CURSES!) Due Date: June 7th. Adorableness: certain. Activity: constant. Yet another Daddy's best friend: check.

(did that feel very James Bondish to anyone else? :) )

Im not good at remembering to EVER take 'belly shots' so this will have to do.

This is Feb. 15, 24 weeks.

About 4 weeks ago I had no pregnant belly. Then in about 1 week the thing literally "popped". Exploded. Made itself evident. I bought the jacket for the wedding before this occurred. It was quite....cozy. :)

Okay, I realize this is not a very good belly shot at all, but it's the best I have right now.

This is just a super cute picture of Christian being chased by his aunt Alyson that didn't make it into the slideshow.

Marianne and Austin's Wedding

February 15th Patrick's older sister, Marianne, married Austin Cowley. Patrick and I (and Christian) are BIG fans of Austin and are super glad he's officially a part of the family.

Congrats, guys! Hope you're enjoying the Bahamas! (LUCKIES!!!!)

Yes, Christian was ridiculously handsome in his 5 piece suit. I was glad- Patrick wasn't so out of place with his ridiculous good looks.
Am I a lucky girl or what?

Valentines Day Man Tag

Man Tag
To appease my dear sister, here is my first continuation of a 'tag'- which I am more inclined to do considering it is over my favorite subject.

What is his full name? Patrick Ronald Summerhays
How long have you been married? 2 years and almost 4 months.

How long did you date? dated for 5 months (one of which I was away in Europe), engaged for 2.

Who eats more sweets? Eh, me. Im the sweet tooth junkie. He Loves his cookies, pies, etc. but he's much better at controlling himself. Im more of a candy junkie. He can pack more away at one time than I can, though.

Who said I love you first? He did. Up on Y mountain over looking the county lights. I was too nervous to say anything back, so I did the next best thing: smooched him. I said I Love You a few days later.

How old is he? 25.

Who is taller? He is.

Who is smarter? I have no idea. He's definitely got the music theory/listening down a bajillion times better, but I think we're pretty much both geniuses. :)

Who can sing better? He has a fabulous voice. I don't think I'm too bad either. We make a great duet. :)

Who does the laundry? No one. :P Its really hard for us to not have our own washer/dryer! I guess for the most part it's me, though.

Who pays the bills? He does mostly. But I often call on the electric bill. (we don't really have a lot of 'bills')

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? we switch. It just depends on which side of my body I need to sleep on at the moment. I often climb over him in the middle of the night to switch sides.

Who mows the lawn? We don't have one. :)

Who cooks dinner? Both of us.

Who drives? He does when we’re together.

Who is more stubborn? probably depends. I think we're really good at working things out with each other and compromising. I've never considered either of us stubborn in our marriage.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me. The first date was the perfect cheek kiss and he gave me our first 'real' kiss, which was also perfect.

Who asked who out? he asked me. It was on St. Patrick's day which he has always considered his extra lucky holiday. We were to go bowling that Saturday, but I really wanted to go to this dance the dorms were having, so I called him and asked if we could switch plans. It was the best date. Ever. Obviously.

Who has more siblings? He does. 8 vs. my 6.

Who wears the pants? We both prefer pants. Though out of the two of us, Im the only one who would consider a skirt.

I LOVE YOU, BABES!!!

My Little Gym

Christian's cousin, Cannon, invited (via his mom) Christian to be his special friend for "friends week" at My Little Gym.

Christian had a great time running on the colored mats, dancing to the music, and especially playing with the balls. Thanks, Cannon!

Uncle Nate helping Christian across the beam- and picking up the hankie. Cannon supervising.

Mama's Helper

Christian LOVES our vacuum. I mean LOVES. Normal children are born with a natural fear of large, sucking, noisy objects, but not this kid. He loves it when mom and dad forget to shut the closest door and he can sneak in there to explore the vacuum. Even when I turn the thing on, there's absolutely no keeping him away. He still tries to play with it during the vacuuming process. Good heavens.

Anyways.. his auntie Marianne gave him his own popper vacuum for his birthday, and while he still loves the big powerful one the best (he's a man's man), he was happy to help mama vacuum his room. It was pretty dang cute.

Randomness to Update

Okay, as is apparent from my month-long absence, I am a little behind.
Here's just a few pictures from the last month or so.

We went on a FREEZING walk to go see the candy windows on Center Street. It was way fun, yet also way freezing. :)

yes, he is definitely our son: music, sports, and eating. simutaneously. impressive? definitely.

we often find this kid just quietly looking at his books in his room. for impressive stretches of time. My kid? definitely.

Christmas Morning at grandma and grandpa Summerhays.

Here's a pose in front of our Christmas Tree in his official Stocking. This is official b/c it is the one he will get to use as long as he wants. It is quite large, seeing as he was presented to us in it after he got all cleaned up after birth. It's an awesome stocking. One of these days Ill embroider his name on one side. Then it will be super official.

Wow. What a year its been. I can't believe how much our perfect Christmas present has grown. Christian has truly been the greatest and most incredible gift Patrick and I have ever been given. We are so grateful for the opportunity and blessing we have to be his parents. I sound like a biased mama, (but everyone else says it about him, too!) he really is the greatest kid. Ever. And Ever? Definitely. :)

BIRTHDAY PARTY TIME

okay, okay- so Im a bad poster. sheesh.

Here are just a few pictures from Christian's 1 yr. party- which, was a complete FLOP, btw. blah. I like how I've been planning it since the kid was about 2 days old, and yet the whole thing still ended up being utter lamesauce. I attribute that to the fact our car completely and utterly died and we had to spend the 3-4 days before the party just searching for a car, thus all the little errands/ things i wanted to do just didn't get done. alas. At least he was stinking cute.
