Today I witnessed some inspiring teamwork. I told the kids they could have some valentine candy.
Problem: the candy was in a bucket on top of some storage drawers on top of a tall dresser.
All on their own they came up with this.
Proud Mama.

Overheard at our house
Christian fell and got some pretty bad scrapes on the palms of his hands.
One night while I was changing the band aids- he was already lying in bed ready for sleep.
As I applied neosporin and a band-aid, he very gently and sweetly told me:
C; "Mom. You're so clever."
Me:"Oh thank you, son. Why am I so clever?"
C: "Because your so soft and kind when you put my band-aids on."
A few weeks ago, Christian said goodbye to his teacher, Mrs. Festa.
She replied "Goodbye, Christian"
C:"Mom! How does she know my name?!?"
Me: "Um, because she's your teacher..."
C: "But! Was she there when I was born? Did she see me in my stocking? " (Because he is a Christmas Day baby, after his first bath, the nurses brought Christian to me in a giant Christmas stocking)
Me: No. She wasn't there
C: "Then how does she know it??"
Me: "Um, because we told her. At the beginning of School. A long time ago."
C: "What?! It was supposed to be a secret!"
funny kid.
(We've had almost this exact conversation twice. His total surprise that this lady know my name. Kills me. :P )

Overheard at Our House
While watching the Plano Christmas parade, there were several policemen. I started talking about policemen and how they are good and not scary and they help and protect us.
Channing: Yeah, and they take the super-de bad naughty guys and put them in those...
Me: Jail
Chan: yeah. The super-de naughty ones.
While talking to Grandma H. about Anna going into Primary early (the class kids start at age 3)
Grandma: Oh Anna won't be a problem. Not at all.
To which Anna immediately and eagerly piped up:
A: I can be a problem, Gramma! I Can be a problem! I can!
:)
So eager and anxious to please. :D

Overheard at Our House
Yesterday I was helping Christian with some school work. At one point he wasn't really focusing or thinking and I playfully made some comment about "where's your brain?" or something (which, writing here comes across quite hurtful/damaging/mean/etc....but in real life it totally wasn't- so DONT JUDGE ME POSTERITY! fo realz.) (anyways....)
To which he responded:
C: I'm a bear!
T:You're a bear?
C: Yes! I'm stuffed with fluff!
to which his aunt overhearing cracked up.
Very witty my son, very witty. :)

Zoo Day
We are extremely fortunate to live within 1.5 hr drive to TWO amazingly awesome zoos.
And we LOVE the zoo.
After lots of Saturdays spent of Daddy working with That Wylie Band at marching competitions, he finally had a free day. So, we all went to the Dallas Zoo. We bought an annual pass and are really looking forward to LOTS more zoo days!
There was a really neat bird show- and Patrick got to hold up a dollar bill and have a bird come grab it out of his hand. Unfortunately, I was too slow on the flash. :/
Channing was an incredible trooper- walking the ENTIRE day. Even when big brother needed some stroller breaks, Chan kept trucking along, cheerful as ever.

Back In the Saddle Again
Welllll....... after FINALLY being able to upload all the pics on our camera (since JULY), I am itching to get back to recording this precious time in my little family's life.
So- I may or may not eventually touch on the following subjects:
-leaving our beautiful home/yard/wonderful friends in Gunnison, UT to start a whole new chapter of life in Texas.
-
-
-
-
-
....okay- so really- that whole tiny aspect is pretty major and has brought with it some incredible emotions, difficulties, blessings, trying times, and faith.
But. Rather than fret and lament over all I have missed recording, all I have to catch up on, all that I'm not doing, I'm just going to pick up right where life has led us to right here. Right now. This moment.
Start here. If the opportunity permits, look back. Always remember our blessings. Always remember that Father is aware of us.
But right here and right now- I will live in this moment. And be Joyful.
